About the Association
The
Structural Engineers Association of South Carolina (SEA of SC), the
largest and most active Association of registered structural engineers
and allied professionals in South Carolina, is a non-profit organization
founded in 2005 for the benefit of the structural engineering community,
including structural engineers, university faculty members, students,
and associates involved in the design, fabrication and construction of
structures.
Six
SC Chapters
The Association has six chapters -
Charleston,
Myrtle
Beach,
Aiken,
Columbia,
Greenville
and
Hilton Head. Chapters hold regular meetings at which topics
of professional interest are presented and discussed. In addition, the
Association holds an annual one-day Conference. SEA of SC members and
other Structural Engineers are welcome at these meetings.
Membership
Membership offers numerous benefits to professional
structural engineers, as well as the associated engineering professions,
engineering companies, contractors, university professors, and
engineering students. Professional presentations, technical
publications, forums, conferences, and personal interaction keeps SEA of
SC members abreast of professional developments, new technology,
legislative issues, changes in code standards and much more.
Meeting Licensing Renewal Requirements
SEA of SC can really help you meet the South Carolina's
license renewal requirements under which PEs are required to accumulate
30 hours of
professional development hours
(PDHs) each biennial review period. As a SEA of SC member you will have
ample opportunity to meet these requirements.
If you are not yet
a member of SEA of SC, please consider joining. If you would like to be
added to our electronic database,

The
State
Board,
headquartered in Charleston, meets semiannually and coordinates the
Association's activities. The board consists of elected members and
representatives from each Chapter.
